Welcome

I'm a 3rd year Psychological Science (Social/Personality) Ph.D. student at U.C. Irvine, working in the Hot Cognition Lab (HCL) with Dr. Peter Ditto, the Psychology of Social Inequality (PSI) Lab with Dr. Pia Dietze, and the Morality, Emotion, & Social Hierarchy (MESH) Lab with Dr. Paul Piff. Before UCI, I completed my B.A. in Psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

My research broadly explores the intersectionality of morality and political ideology as drivers of various intergroup conflicts, as well as the antecedents and consequences of political sectarianism. Specifically, I'm interested in how viewing political adversaries as "evil" exacerbates divisions and undermines efforts to address widespread social issues.

My current projects examine how we perceive others' minds, and how (mis)inferring others' attitudes, beliefs, motives, and feelings can impede conflict resolution, mutual understanding, and cooperative efforts.

Outside of academia, I enjoy watching and playing sports, weightlifting, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and (occasionally) scrolling through TikTok.
